Budtender Spotlight: Luke
Name: Luke
From: Battle Ground, Washington
“Born and raised, right here in Clark County!”
Weed history: “Recreationally I’ve been smoking for more than 20 years now. I just got into the industry about a year ago ‘officially’ though.”
“I always loved the idea of working at a weed store – I shopped at The Herbery after legalization and I was so impressed with the team that I wanted to join them. And I was lucky enough to get a job here!”
Favorite strains: Luke is a huge fan of all things Doc & Yeti. His favorite strains:
Buffalo Bill and Red Headed Stranger
“The flavor profiles from Doc & Yeti are fantastic! Buffalo Bill is a nice citrus flavor. I also like the head space. It’s very motivational, allows me to be productive and is great for commuter programming and computer work (which was Luke’s previous career).”
Customer support: “I really enjoy helping folks who are looking for therapeutic effects from cannabis. Whether that’s recreational fun therapy or other therapy, I feel it’s important to meet the customer where they are, help them and let them know they’re being listened to.”
Weirdest thing about you: “I’m a classically trained pianist. I’ve been playing 22 years now. I used to play in a band, but mostly it’s just for personal edification now. ”
Where do you want to be in five years: “I’m working on really bringing technology to the cannabis market in Washington. I have a programming and systems background, and there are a lot of disparate software packages out there that don’t talk to each other. And I want to problem solve and help with that, after my budtending sabbatical.”
