Budtender Spotlight: Jacob

Name: Jacob

From: Sacramento, California, but he also has family in Clark County.

“I moved to Huntington Beach for a few years, then I moved up here, looking for something new. I have a bunch of family in Vancouver and Camas, and I used to visit at least once every year or two – but now I’m here and I’m really getting to know them all, which is great.”

Weed history: “I’ve been smoking since I was 16 and in high school. When I turned 18 I got my medical marijuana card. I love weed. It’s something I’ve always smoked I feel like I’m getting deeper into it the older I get,” the 24-year-old said.

“When I moved here I needed a job, and I wasn’t even looking for a weed job. But I applied here and I got the call back. I love it. It’s very chill and I get to talk to people about weed all day.”

Favorite strains: Courtside Jack from Golden Leaf, Honey Bananas from U4iK Gardens, Bubble Dawg from U4iK Gardens.

“U4iK is the bomb,” Jacob said. “They’re really good. I’m a hybrid sativa guy and I just love them.”

He also likes Smokiez Blackberry Chewies, he said.

“When I tried them I ate them all at once – 100 mg – because they’re really good,” Jacob said with a laugh. “It was a great stoney high. But I also ended up going to bed early that night!”

Customer support: “It’s fun working with older ladies. Either they’re professional stoner old ladies – which is hella cool! I used to smoke with my grandmother and she was like that. Or they know nothing about weed and then I can help them learn about it – which is cool because I get to help somebody older than me learn something. I love to share information like that.”

Weirdest thing about you: “I’ve moved ever since high school. My childhood we were always moving houses, either across town or elsewhere. I suppose that made me pretty independent.”

Where do you want to be in five years: “I guess this industry isn’t my ultimate goal. I don’t have to work in the industry to enjoy marijuana. But I wouldn’t be disappointed to be still in the industry either. I just want to be stable and happy.”
